Midnight Ambulance

Alternative rock duo, Midnight Ambulance, formed between Paris and North Berwick in 2020. Amelia (vocals/drums) and Fraser (guitar/vocals)
reconnected after first meeting over ten years ago and began collaborating via video call as a creative and cathartic outlet during lockdown.
Their musical partnership quickly developed into something bigger, writing 70+ songs by June 2020. On Amelia’s return to Scotland, after
eight months of writing together, they finally had the opportunity to jam live and decided to form Midnight Ambulance.

Together they create dark and powerful soundscapes that are completed with delicate melodies, leaving you intrigued… “but slightly scared” (Vic Galloway, BBC Radio Scotland).

Their sound builds a unique and mysterious atmosphere that combines sinister and distorted instruments with folk-inspired vocals. Influences: The White Stripes, Billie Eilish, The National, Phoebe Bridgers, The Ninth Wave.

They were shortlisted for BBC Introducing’s Scottish Act of the Year 2022 and have released six studio singles and now their debut EP. They launched the EP with a debut sellout headline and launch show at Edinburgh’s legendary The Caves. Features include: Apple Music ‘New in Rock’ playlist; BBC 6 Music Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape; BBC Radio Scotland (Single of the Week – The Afternoon Show, Vic Galloway & BBC Introducing); BBC Alba (Single of the Week); The Skinny, Snack Magazine (Scottish Single of the Year nomination), Tenement TV and The Scotsman (Artist of the Week).

They have performed at festivals and in venues across the UK, supporting artists such as The Pigeon Detectives, Fatherson & Texas.

“Dark, powerful and mysterious.”

Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

“Ominous, looming and with a real sense of menace, the duo conjure a unique atmosphere with Amelia’s heartfelt vocal and pounding drums front and centre, elegantly accompanied by Fraser’s playing and production…As a listener, I am excited and slightly scared!!”

Vic Galloway, BBC Radio Scotland.

“Fraser and Amelia, have shared a trio of singles – each as compelling as the next. They are dark, brooding and extremely dynamic, using
unconventional rhythms, foreboding melodies and heavy alt-rock guitars to build their intensely stirring sound – oscillating between moments
of quiet reflection and heavily charged catharsis.”

Suzanne Oswald, Tenement TV
