“Selling out shows throughout the country. Dictator are the atmospheric rock band here to make you feel the depths of the human soul”
Former BBC Radio1 DJ, Phil Taggart
With heartbreaking ballads and foot stomping Indie bangers, this is a band with a strong focus on collaboration and an outspoken social conscience. They are vocal supporters of their local scene and have an intimate connection with their fanbase. Combining this with tongue in cheek social media antics and playful live performances ensures they are a consistent must-see live act.
Inspirations are worn on their sleeves with clear nods to Gorillaz, Primal Scream, Glass Animals, Alt-J and London Grammar. They insist on pushing their musical boundaries, defying expectations, and creating their own unique blend of Electronic Indie Pop.
Despite numerous lockdowns, the band continued to release music and grow a committed fanbase in Scotland and beyond, including A-list celebrity fans like Actor, Robert Carlyle, and gaining support from musical peers Glasvegas.
Hailing from the creatively fertile land of West Lothian, the band began on the same circuits as Lewis Capaldi, and have shared a rehearsal room with chart toppers The Snuts. However, the group don’t intend to ride on those coat tails and instead aim to carve out their own paths.
All releases have gained National network airplay with continual support from BBC 6Music, Radio X, XS Manchester and BBC Introducing, with single ‘Days Gone By‘ winning The Weekender Magazine’s Song of the Year 2020 Award.
